Varna is enjoying the economic benefits of both the trade that comes through its port from around the world on its way to the rest of Europe and the construction boom that has taken place along the coast, not to mention the wider liberalisation of the economy.

Much of the business done in the area and much of the money made in construction finds its way home to Varna. Thus locals have done rather well and have money to spend on property, Varna is a surprisingly wealthy city.

Oversupply has not afflicted Varna like it has done on the coast, partly due to the natural form of the city and the stricter planning laws it has than the coast.

One, perhaps, curious way to take advantage of the oversupply along the Bulgarian coast would be to buy in Varna where people clearly have money and the city is on the up.
